When I started in advertising in the early '90s in Brazil, one of my first jobs was at DPZ Advertising, one of the top ad agencies in the country at the time. I was a young art assistant and wasn’t entirely sure about a career in advertising, but DPZ was no ordinary agency—it was exceptional. Mister P, Petit, and Mister Z, Zaragoza, both Europeans from Catalonia, were more than just art directors and designers; they were accomplished fine-art artists. I worked with Petit, who introduced me to a new perspective on life: the beauty of advertising and how fine-art knowledge and skills can elevate your work as an art director. Since then, I’ve pursued both advertising and fine art with equal passion.
